The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one
that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the
wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world...When all other friends desrt, he remains.

Hound mix / Female

Cupcake was rescued from a high-kill shelter and was then fostered for a few
weeks. Her foster mom notes that she is a wonderful girl that will do well in
most environments. She's great with kids and dogs. She loves running around
the yard, and naps on the couch. She would do best in a home with a dog
companion and with pet parents experienced with puppy behavior.

Despite being a resident at Animal Aid for 4 years, Sisco remains hopeful that he
will someday cuddle up in a warm forever home. Year after year he has watched
his canine buddies come and go with their new families but for some reason his family
hasnít found him yet. Sisco is an energetic and sweet boy. He is a bit of a Casanova
preferring female dogs over male dogs, but he does well with both. He is also a very
smart boy. He completed a 7 week basic training class and did very well. Sometimes
Sisco doesnít like to share his toys or his food. He has worked hard to overcome
these tendencies and is doing very well. Often shelter pups worry about their food
and toys so this isnít unusual. But Sisco would do best with a dog savvy family and
no small children. Sisco loves to chase the ball, run and frolic around the fields, and
explore wooded trails. If you are a runner, walker, or enjoy hikes by the beach or
river this is the dogs for you. Please consider being Siscoís hero.
He has waited so long.

24 June 2017: Today Sisco has passed the basic training class (seven weeks)
at Half Moon Bay Canine Training in Chesapeake.
Congratulations to Scisco and his handler Kristin. Thank you Kristin
for your dedication in helping Scisco. He's a very smart dog!
